East Wind Winter Update, 2017

May 2, 2017

The 2017 winter circuit was certainly one to remember for Team East Wind, as our riders received more top accolades and experienced quite a few special moments.

At circuit’s end, East Wind riders earned four Winter Equestrian Festival Circuit Championships.

  • Susannah Rose & Calero captured their second straight—and third overall—Circuit Championship title in the Adult Amateur Hunters.

  • In their very first winter circuit together as a team, Christy Powell and her own Karoleena were Circuit Champions of the Low Adult Hunters.

  • Catherine Wu won her second consecutive Circuit Championship in the Adult Modified Jumpers with her own Ren Round Number.

  • Taje Warrick was Circuit Champion of the Children’s Jumper, 14 & Under, division for the second year in a row, but this year she did it with her own veteran partner, Mufasa.

  • Hailey Berger rode her own Shannondale Gino to Reserve Circuit Championship honors in the Children’s Jumper, 15-17, division.

East Wind also welcomed a special new rider to its team this winter. Mattelyn Mack Morrissey was born on February 6, 2017, and is sure to be a future pony hunter, equitation, junior jumper, and grand prix star!

Congratulations to all of Team East Wind!
