East Wind racked up its frequent flyer miles this fall, with trips to nearly all of the major indoor finals. With ribbons earned at Capital Challenge, the Pennsylvania National and the Washington International Horse Show, East Wind riders made the entire team proud!
The circuit began in Upper Marlboro, Md., at the Capital Challenge Horse Show, where East Wind was represented in the equitation and jumper divisions.
Brooke Giacin qualified among the top 20 in the nation for the T.H.I.S. National Children’s Medal and held her own in the competitive final aboard her own Cassis.
Hailey Berger rode her own Shannondale Gino to a clear round, finishing in the top 12 of the Child/Adult Jumper speed competition.
Catie Staszak and East Wind Farms’ Agnes Augusta brought home ribbons in the Adult Amateur Equitation, finishing 7th over fences and 6th on the flat.
At the Pennsylvania National, Hailey Berger shined. She and her own Shannondale Gino finished as the runners-up in the North American League Children’s Jumper Final! The duo then continued on to the Washington International Horse Show and finished 7th in the WIHS Children’s Jumper Championship. They were spectacularly competitive and consistent all fall long.
Upon East Wind’s arrival home, there was one more fall championship to contend, and that was our local one at the South Florida Hunter Jumper Association’s 66th Annual Charity Horse Show.
Congratulations to Brooke Giacin, who rode her own Cassis to a 2nd place finish in the SFHJA Junior Medal Final! Brooke was also Reserve Champion of the 12-14 division with her other mount, Shannaghmore.
Catie Staszak won the Ariat Adult Medal and finished 3rd in the SFHJA Adult Medal Final aboard Agnes Augusta. Catie led the SFHJA standings this year.
Lisa Berger won the Low Adult Hunter Classic aboard Taylor Sutton’s Little Blue Box! Stacey Shore Werner finished 2nd aboard her own Sebastian, and Christy Powell and her own Savion were Reserve Champions of the division.
Taje Warrick and Dersey won the $10,000 NAL/WIHS Child/Adult Jumper Classic! The pair was also Reserve Champions of the Children’s Jumper division.
Arion Legends, LLC’s Capital Gain was Champion of the Adult Equitation, thanks to some superb catch-riding from Lindsey Tomeu of Sweet Oak Farm!
Vellute D’Amerloo was Champion of the 1.0 Training Jumpers with both Maggie Gould and owner Gaby Iribar in the irons.
It’s hard to believe, but we are gearing up for another winter circuit and a new show year! Congratulations and thank you to all of East Wind’s riders, staff and supporters!
