East Wind is ready for WEF!
With fall came indoor finals, and East Wind was on the road at the Southeast Medal Finals (including the Southeast Maclay Regional), Capitol Challenge, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, and the ASPCA Maclay National Championship at the National Horse Show. Then it was back home to cap the fall season at the annual SFHJA Charity Horse Show for its 65th anniversary.
Jordyn Katz and Kate Eagleton represented the East Wind junior equitation contingent this year, and for the second year in a row, Katz landed on the podium after the Southeast Maclay Regional Final in Jacksonville, FL. Katz rode her own Dexter to the silver medal, improving her finish by one position after finishing third last year. Both Katz and Eagleton also performed admirably at Capitol Challenge, where they were joined by Brooke Giacin for the T.H.I.S. Medal Final; and at the Pennsylvania National for the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal Final. Katz also traveled to the National Horse Show in Lexington, KY for the ASPCA Maclay National Championship.
The SFHJA Charity Horse Show provided the final two equitation finals of the year, the SFHJA Junior- and Adult Medal finals. Here, Brooke Giacin and Olivia Gruvermanrepresented the juniors, while Catie Staszak represented the adults. Giacin finished eighth in her final, while Staszak claimed third place honors in hers. There were numerous other Champions throughout the course of the week:
Tiffany Morrissey and East Wind Farms LLC’s Sir Pepper were named champions of the Baby Green Hunter division during. The performance was especially impressive, considering it was the 4-year-old’s first ever horse show.
Maggie Gould and Christy Powell’s Karoleena were champions of the Pre Green Hunters.
Olivia Gruverman earned the Championship in the Children’s Hunter division with her own Connor.
Doris Neyra and her own Alibi VI took home the Championship in the Low Adult Jumper division. Neyra and Alibi VI were also awarded the JB Johnson Perpetual Trophy as the top overall Low Child/Adult performers of the horse show.
Catie Staszak and Kate Eagleton’s Volan claimed the Reserve Championship in the Adult Equitation division.
East Wind could not be more proud of its riders or more excited to carry the positive momentum into the winter and the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival!
